Opening October 4th! Come see the first show of Savannah Children’s Theatre’s 22nd season, a miraculous journey for all ages, performing at the Savannah JEA.
Edward Tulane is an expensive toy rabbit made of china. He is loved by a little girl named Abilene, but Edward doesn’t care. He is vain and self-centered. He has no interest in anyone other than himself. On an ocean voyage, Edward is accidentally thrown overboard and sinks to the bottom of the sea. So begins his journey—a journey over which he has no control, for he is a toy rabbit. He can neither move nor speak. As years pass by, Edward meets many different people in many different situations: an older grieving couple who find comfort in Edward’s presence, a hobo and his dog who introduce Edward to a whole community of homeless wanderers, a farmer in need of a scarecrow, a sad little boy and his very ill sister, and finally a doll mender and an old doll who teach Edward an invaluable lesson. Through this miraculous journey, Edward learns what it is to love, what it is to lose that love, and how to find the courage to love again. Based on Kate DiCamillo’s beautiful novel of the same name, the play is a theatrical tour de force for a small ensemble of actors and musicians.

The Historic Savannah Theatre presents:
Little Shop of Horrors, a “devlishly delicious” musical comedy based on the 1960 film, featuring the story of meek florist Seymour, his love interest Audrey, her sadistic dentist boyfriend, and a peculiar, blood-drinking plant named Audrey II that promises fame and fortune in exchange for human blood. The musical, known for its Motown-inspired hits like “Suddenly Seymour” and “Feed Me,” blends science fiction, horror, and dark humor as Seymour gets entangled in a Faustian bargain with the out-of-this-world plant to save his failing flower shop.

One of Savannah’s grandest theatre traditions is back with the Bay Street Theatre’s annual production of “The Rocky Horror Show Live”!
What is this strange journey all about? A newly engaged couple, Brad Majors and Janet Weiss, get caught in a storm and find themselves at the eerie castle of a Dr. Frank-N-Furter just as he and his minions are about to unveil his masterpiece! Madness ensues and innocence is lost.
Filled with outrageous characters and iconic music like “Time Warp,” “Sweet Transvestite,” and “Damnit Janet!”, this is one wild night that you don’t want to miss.
Please note: Props (rice, hotdogs, squirt guns, etc) are strictly prohibited (It’s live theatre, not the shadowcast!)
Want to come in costume? Please do! We love to see our fellow unconventional conventionalists in the audience!

The Savannah Performance Alliance is proud to present a world premiere staged reading of award-winning writer Rick Garman’s new play “America,” a dark thriller that examines the divides and fractures in our contemporary society through a tension-packed story about a group of people trapped in a roadside diner by a deadly but enigmatic threat outside.
The staged reading will be held at 7pm at the Bay Street Theatre at Club One, 1 Jefferson St., Downtown Savannah. A Q&A discussion with the author and cast will be held immediately afterward. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

Since then he has gone on to become a prolific screenwriter and author with novels, travel guide books, and more than 40 movies for television including “The Groomsmen: Second Chances,” which won the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Film, TV or Streaming in 2025. He is the founder and producer of the The Savannah Cabaret.
